Textile Artists of Virginia
TAVA supports and encourages each member as a fiber artist through sharing ideas and techniques, as well as exploring the boundaries of the medium with programs and hands-on activities. TAVA increases public awareness of fiber art through exhibits and public engagement.
TAVA meets monthly in Southwest Virginia to promote the creation of fiber art. Meetings are currently held both in-person and virtually. Regular hands-on activities let the members learn new techniques, challenges push each artist’s imagination and exhibitions educate the public about fiber art as a medium. Previous collections were exhibited locally as well as at the Montgomery Museum for Arts and History, Virginia Quilt Museum, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival and other Mancuso shows, and the Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition.
